How to configure a Cisco router from Linux
If you want to configure your Cisco router using Linux or FreeBSD (connected to a local COM port). Use the following instructions to configure the device:
- Cisco router to connect to the COM port using a serial cable
- Use a program such as minicom (minicom type in the shell)
fher98 @ deathbian: ~ $ minicom - Select the port, speed and / dev/ttyS0 as COM1 and save the settings as DFL. Then select Exit
- Continue with the configuration of your router
