Dell new member of the Microsoft-Novell alliance
After long years of trying that big tech companies supporting Linux, is that now everyone wants to Linux. If you recall a few days ago Dell announced that embark their pc's with Ubuntu, then Toshiba Europe this thinking to do something similar. But this sell pc with Linux pre-installed does not stay here, Dell has just Floss to bring his support to another level. It turns out that Dell now wants to become a partner of the Microsoft-Novell alliance.
While Linux users have protested against Microsoft (I consider myself one), Michael Dell has left his amateur by Ubuntu is carried to the limit, we now see that their intention is to purchase the Certificates of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server from Microsoft.
With this agreement, the giant Texas becomes the first major hardware vendor to join the collaboration of Microsoft and Novell, and judging by recent news of Ubuntu, say that this agreement will help greatly to the strategy of Dell and Floss.
That represents profit for the Floss
If we think carefully can be very beneficial agreement for the community. Recalling that discrimination towards Linux by the guild business is due in large part to threats by Microsoft to establish claims for patents and copyrights to corporate users of Linux, which according to Ballmer himself there, but have never succeeded in check.
That said, if this soportanto Dell Ubuntu and signing the agreement as a partner in this alliance, automatically I would like to think that Ubuntu and its variants fall under the umbrella of the alliance.
In other words, everything automagically user of Ubuntu, Kubuntu, etc would be free of any claims by Microsoft.
