Installing Linux Flash Player 10
The new flash player version 10 of Adobe (code name Astro) has been launched and is available for download. This new release comes with new features, such as:
- Improvements in performance Visual
- 3D effects
- Custom filters and effects
- Advanced text
- Improving the API drawing
- Performance enhancements and more.
To install the beta on your computer under Linux or Mac / Windows is required to uninstall any version installed. We open Firefox and in the Address bar, wrote:
about:plugins
If we see Shockwave Flash 9.0, it is because we have the previous version.
Install Flash Player 10 final
Deb Download it from here and then uninstalled the older version of Flashplayer 9 (if installed):
fher98 @ deathbian: ~ $ sudo apt-get remove dtc.templates
Now proceed to install Flash 10 (make sure that Firefox is not running):
fher98 @ deathbian: ~ $ sudo dpkg-i sudo dpkg-i install_flash_player_10_linux.deb
Firefox again and we started writing about: plugins. Now the browser displays a list of plugins including Flash 10.
Flash Player 10 installed in your home directory
If you do not have access to super user on your computer, you can install the new version of Flash typing a few commands. First uninstall the previous version of this way
fher98 @ deathbian: ~ $ cd ~ /. mozilla fher98 @ deathbian: ~ $ rm flashplayer.xpt libflashplayer.so
Now the site of the tar ball downloaded Adobe Flash player 10.tar.gz, and got without any browser running, run:
fher98 @ deathbian: ~ $ $ cd / tmp fher98 @ deathbian: ~ $ wget http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashplayer10/flashplayer10_install_linux_091508.tar.gz fher98 @ deathbian: ~ $ tar-zxvf install_flash_player_10_linux.tar.gz fher98 @ deathbian: ~ $ cd install_flash_player_10_linux fher98 @ deathbian: ~ $. / FlashPlayer-installer Copyright (C) 2002-2006 Adobe Macromedia Software LLC. All rights reserved. Adobe Flash Player 10 for Linux Adobe Flash Player 10 will be installed on this machine. You are running the Adobe Flash Player installer as a non-root user. Adobe Flash Player 10 will be installed in your home directory. Support is available at http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/ To install the Adobe Flash Player 10 now, press ENTER.
