Popularity Contest Plugin for WordPress

The project's popularity plugin for WP was started by Alex King, and he wrote a great plugin. But since the version of wordpress 2.3, the longer continuous development. Therefore I have decided to continue development and have a repository here with a version of popularity contest to work with the latest versions of wordpress.
Of course, the plugin will remain free, so if someone wants to help write code for it, please feel welcome.

Description
This plugin will allow you to know which of your articles published are the most popular. Views, comments, etc. are configurable registered and earn points to determine the popularity of the post.
Latest version of Wordpress Supported: 2.6.5
Stable version of the plugin: 1.4.2

Installation
- Download the plugin file and unpack.
- Load the popularity-contest.php wp-content/plugins directory (not in a sub-folder r).
- In the Plugins page in the Administration area of your Wordpress blog click Activate under Popularity Contest. This will create the table in the database used by Popularity Contest
- Congratulations, you just installed Popularity Contest and is now recording the data.
- Optional: Go to Options> Popularity if you want to modify the values of each view and feedback type.
Popularity: 2%

Glad you picking up the ball on the plugin - however I'm having trouble with wordpress 2.7 - any chance of an update?

Hi Big Bear, now from what version are you updating? did you used the plugin on different versions, or you just installed it on wp 2.7?

I just installed a fresh copy of wp 2.7, then just copy the plugin to the plugins directory and its workin fine.
What did you try to do when that error appear?

Hi there, I'm using this plugin but notice that it causes the site to load extremely slowly. When I deactivate the plugin the site loads faster. Can you tell me if there is a way to speed up this plugin at all?

Ive been working on another port, not ready yet, but I would like something like 5.10 to test sites.
It would seem quite a few people are experiencing this issue. Are there any plans to update the plugin for 2.8.4?
