Vsftp: 500 UNRWA: failed to open ftp log file
I have a client which automatically sends your backups every night via ftp, a good day until he no longer worked for a backup service. Reviewing scripts backups of this server I noticed the following error;
deathbian backup @: ~ $ ftp 192.168.64.10 Connected to 192.168.64.10. 500 UNRWA: failed to open ftp log file
Displaying more detail found in the message log 500 UNRWA: failed to open xferlog log file: / var / log / xferlog. With this procedure to open another root end and stopped the service of vsftp clear the log file and restart the service.
[root @ ftpserver ~] # service vsftpd stop Shutting down vsftpd: [OK] [root @ ftpserver ~] # rm / var / log / vsftpd.log [root @ ftpserver ~] # service vsftpd start [root @ ftpserver ~] #
Bringing the demon of vsftpd must create a new blogs on / var / log /.
You may also be a problem with SELinux, which must run the system-config-securitylevel and off. We also review whether the port 21 for FTP protocol is not blocked by iptables.
