El proyecto del plugin de popularidad para WP fue empezado por Alex King, y el escribio un gran plugin. Pero desde la version de wordpress 2.3 el ya no continuo con el desarrollo. Por tal motivo he decidido continuar con el desarrollo y tener aca un repositorio con una version de popularity contest para que funcione con las ultimas versiones de wordpress.
Claro que el plugin permanecera libre y por lo tanto si alguien quiere ayudar escribiendo codigo para el mismo, por favor sientase bienvenido.
El desarrollo y soporte para el plugin cuesta tiempo y esfuerzo, por lo cual yo solo les pido que muestren un link en su sitio, gracias.
Descripcion
Este plugin te permitira conocer cual de tus articulos publicados son los mas populares. Visitas, comentarios, etc son registrados y ganan puntos configurables para determinar la popularidad del post.
Actualizado para soportar wordpress 3
Ultima version de WordPress Soportada: 2.9.2 – 3.0
Version estable del plugin: 2.1
Para la ultima version descargar el plugin aqui: DOWNLOAD
Instalacion
- Descarge el archivo del plugin y descomprimalo.
- Carge el archivo popularity-contest.php al directorio wp-content/plugins (no en un sub-folder).
- En la pagina de Plugins en el area de Administracion de tu blog WordPress clic en Activate bajo Popularity Contest. Esto creara la tabla en la base de datos usada por Popularity Contest
- Felicitaciones, acaba de instalar Popularity Contest y ahora esta registrando los datos.
- Opcional: Ve a Options > Popularity si deseas modificar los valores de cada vista y tipo de feedback.
Ojo: Es necesario borrar el directorio del anterior del plugin!!!

Glad you picking up the ball on the plugin – however I’m having trouble with wordpress 2.7 – any chance of an update?

Hi Big Bear, now from what version are you updating? did you used the plugin on different versions, or you just installed it on wp 2.7 ?

I just installed a fresh copy of wp 2.7, then just copy the plugin to the plugins directory and its workin fine.
What did you try to do when that error appear?

Hi there, I’m using this plugin but notice that it causes the site to load extremely slowly. When I deactivate the plugin the site loads faster. Can you tell me if there is a way to speed this plugin up at all?

Ive been working on another port, not ready yet, but I would like something like 5-10 sites to test.
